Chris Borg began his career journey at Embassy Group in 2013.

Chris Borg began his career journey at Embassy Group in 2013, starting as an assistant to the managing director while responsible for the groups marketing. Over the years, he has demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill, leading to his well-deserved promotion to the esteemed position of Head of Marketing, People, and Culture in 2022. In this pivotal role, Chris now oversees a wide array of responsibilities that play a crucial part in the overall success of both Embassy Limited and the Company.

With a wealth of experience exceeding 15 years in the local marketing agency industry, Chris has garnered extensive expertise across various sectors, including Consumer Retail, FMCG, and Corporate Telecommunications. His multifaceted background underscores his comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics and reinforces his capacity to drive significant impact within Embassy Group.

Chris is today responsible for the Marketing and Human Resources functions at Embassy Group, supporting the company’s hospitality, entertainment and commercial operations. His role encompasses the development and implementation of marketing strategies, brand management, corporate communications and stakeholder engagement, alongside a broad range of HR responsibilities including recruitment, employee development, performance management, training and HR policy development. He also works closely with the Managing Director and management team, contributing to the day-to-day management and strategic development of the business.

Chris holds a degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Maltese Studies from the University of Malta, together with a postgraduate qualification in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in London. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology at the University of Malta, with his research focusing on film consumption practices and their social meanings. His academic and professional interests bring together marketing, media, culture, sociology and people management.
