Ms Vella has significant experience in the fashion retail industry as well as in the banking, construction, real estate and hospitality sectors. During a 25-year span, she has occupied various managerial positions and directorships in companies involved in the construction, real estate and hospitality sectors. In the retail sector, she was instrumental in launching leading brands for ladies’ wear such as  Betty Barclay, Gil Bret, Vera Mont and Un Deux Trois – 123, and until 2015 owned and managed the retail businesses that to date promote such brands. For over a decade, Ms Vella sat on the board of directors of companies involved in the ownership and operation of the Westin Dragonara Hotel & Resort and Le Meridien St. Julians Hotel & Spa.

Ms Vella has been actively involved in The Maltese-Chinese Chamber of Commerce for a number of years and until recently held the post of President of same Chamber. Ms Vella also actively and strategically supports a number of charitable organisations based in Malta.
