Main Street Shopping Complex continues to invest within the local community

This Christmas, Main Street Shopping Complex has collaborated with the Paola Local Council to create a magical atmosphere around Paola’s main square, with the setting up of a 22m Christmas tree that will illuminate the square until January. This is the largest tree in Malta and together with various other new Christmas light decorations, was inaugurated during a special event by the wife of the Prime Minister Lydia Abela, the wife of the Prime Minister, the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli, Paola’s mayor Dominic Grima, and Bettina Azzopardi on behalf of Main Street Complex plc.

The Christmas tree, together with the other street decorations put up thanks to the Paola Local Council and the Paola band clubs, will offer a special Christmas experience for families and people of all ages who will visit Paola during the festive season. Paola remains one of the leading shopping destinations on the island with Main Street Complex offering variety and value for money.

Bettina Azzopardi said “The start of 2022 was tough due to the high number of COVID-19 cases in Malta at the time. However, along the year, the situation has improved, and we noticed a steady increase in footfall and sales figures for various shops within Main Street. All this encourages us to keep investing not just commercially but also by supporting the local community. Over the years we embarked on various projects to help different organisations and charitable institutions, and this Christmas tree, which we’re contributing towards in collaboration with the Paola Local Council, is one way of showing thanks to the community who have always been a part of what Main Street represents. We hope that all those who visit Paola during this festive season will enjoy the special Christmas atmosphere that has been created in this popular destination.”
